Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

During the course, students learn the principles of advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and how to assess someone in need of assistance. Basic life support (BLS), including the chain of survival, guidelines, and mouth-to-mask as well as bag-mask ventilation, will be covered. Aside from the physiology and anatomy of the heart, airway adjuncts, and the ACLS survey, you will also learn advanced life support.

Defibrillation principles and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) are then explained. You will learn about systems of care and explore several situations where ACLS should be used, including respiratory arrest, ventricular fibrillation, bradycardia, and tachycardia. To complete your ACLS training, you will learn several practical skills.

There is also a handbook included with this certification course so you can further your learning. It is particularly helpful to learn and possess these skills if you work in a field like nursing or care for the elderly and vulnerable. Afterward, you will learn about the new section of our ACLS handbook that covers the core ACLS rhythms and their interpretations.
