The Construction Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) programme is a comprehensive 30-hour professional training course designed in line with UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements, the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM 2015).
This programme is intended for construction workers, supervisors, site engineers, foremen, and individuals with safety responsibilities, focusing on hazard identification, risk assessment, control measures, and prevention strategies across construction environments.
The course emphasises practical application, participatory learning, and competency-based assessment, ensuring learners can apply safety principles effectively on UK construction sites.
Total Instructional Time: Minimum 30 hours
Delivery may be classroom-based, blended, or instructor-led online
Includes presentations, case studies, group activities, and assessments
By the end of the programme, learners will be able to:
Identify and assess major construction hazards
Apply UK legal duties for employers and workers
Implement effective risk control and prevention measures
Promote a proactive safety culture on construction sites

This module addresses the primary causes of serious injury and fatalities in UK construction, aligned with HSE statistics.
Falls from Height (minimum 1 hour 15 minutes)
Electrical Hazards
Struck-By Hazards (vehicles, plant, falling objects)
Caught-In / Trapped Hazards (excavations, machinery, confined spaces)
Learners will be able to:
Identify major construction hazards
Describe different types of hazards
Apply control measures and safe systems of work
Understand employer duties and worker responsibilities
Training follows a participatory model and learner understanding is assessed and verified.

Rescue planning and emergency equipment

Noise and vibration (HAVS)
Hazardous substances (COSHH)
Crystalline silica and dust exposure

Safe access and egress
Ladder and stairway safety
Inspections and maintenance
Common failures and incidents
A minimum of 6 topics must be selected. Each topic is at least 30 minutes.
