Forklift Safety in the Workplace

Worldwide, industries use various tools and vehicles to augment their operations. In this regard, one of the most widely recognized vehicles is the forklift truck. It plays numerous essential roles in different industries, and one of its most common roles is to carry heavy loads across workplaces, such as warehouses. Forklifts are also used in other critical activities, such as construction.

Although the importance of forklifts is evident, a higher prevalence of accidents is also associated with the industrial use of these vehicles. In this regard, one of the most widely cited causes of these accidents is a lack of training of the forklift operators (or fork lifters) and the implementation of proper safety measures by the workplace. Industries can consult OSHA (the US Occupational Health and Safety Agency) to overcome these shortcomings. As a result of accidents, injuries, and even fatalities, it has enacted different rules and regulations concerning forklift safety and employee training.
